Carpet amemones and tube anemones all possess ferocious stings and should not be touched with bare skin,particularly on sesitive areas,such as the forearms or backs of hands.Heteractis species may also produce a stinging reaction.In addition some people may be allergic to the poison reacting with rapidly spreading rash or,in rare cases,anaphylatic shock.Both require immediate hospital attention.
